Our Policies

Return policies

We guarantee your satisfaction at AGS. We provide all our customers with a refund, return and/or exchange policy on everything we sell including all bullion and certified coins. This right is limited to seven (7) days from the date on which the customer receives their items. The refund, return and/or exchange policy only applies to customers who notify our Customer Service Department by email at quotes@alexandriagoldandsilver.com or by telephone at (703) 765-2408 during normal business hours within seven (7) days from the date on which the customer receives their item and keeps the item in its original packaging. The Customer Service Department will give you instructions on how to return your items and, at that time. Refunds for returns are not processed until after the returned item(s) has been received and verified

Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable. For returns, you must carefully package the product and you are responsible for the cost of return shipping. AGS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject any return that does not comply with these requirements.

We want our customers to be pleased with their purchases. If for any reason you have a problem, please feel free to call our offices and discuss it with us. We will always do our best to accommodate you. AGS reserves the right to charge a restocking fee of $50 or 10% of the total order price (whichever is greater) on all refunded orders. We may charge a $50 processing fee on all exchanges. If a refund is requested, we reserve the right to find an acceptable replacement or refund your money if an acceptable replacement is not available. Refunds, at our discretion, may be issued via AGS store credit redeemable for future purchases in lieu of a cash refund.

On returning bullion related items, the customer may (at AGS’s discretion) be required to pay for any market loss on their returns. Any market gain on refunds shall remain the property of APMEX.

Pricing or Typographical Errors – We work hard to provide accurate product and pricing information. However, pricing or typographical errors may occur. In the event that an item is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to an error in pricing or product information, APMEX shall have the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any orders placed for that item. If an item is incorrectly priced, we will either contact you for instructions or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation. Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.

Additional Terms – Additional terms relating to certain products (such as prices, methods of payment, our policies with respect to returns, refunds, and cancellations and/or exchanges) may be posted on the site on the pages describing the products.

Do you report my purchase of precious metals

AGS is not required to report our sales transactions to the IRS or any other federal, state or local agencies unless you fall under the Form 8300 requirement.

Are precious metals taxable

When shopping online with AGS, you may be required to pay state and local sales tax on your purchase, depending on a few variables. Since the laws and tax rates are not consistent across the county, or in some cases even within the same state. Remember to check the state where your order will be shipped, not necessarily the state where you live.

When checking out on Alexandriagoldandsilver.com, all taxable items, and the total associated tax, will be clearly displayed once you have entered your shipping address and shipping method. If applicable, non-taxable items will also be displayed.

Shopping in Store or local shipping in Virginia

In the aftermath of the Wayfair ruling by the Supreme Court, retailers have been scrambling to comply with an incredibly complex set of interstate sales tax rules and regulations. We are currently working with Avalara to implement a seamless sales tax application and collection process on this site. At this time we do not have a sales tax nexus in any state but Virginia.

Effective July 1, 2022 the great state of Virginia has removed all Sales Tax from Coins and Currency. Other items such as jewelry are taxable at the usual 6% rate in Virginia.
